Police blotter: Theft, auto burglaries

Petty theft

A female suspect stole medicines from Safeway, 235 Tennant Station. The theft was reported 4:11pm Sept. 25.

Two suspects described as Hispanic male adults were caught trying to steal merchandise from Hobby Lobby, 990 Cochrane Road. Both suspects were cited by police and released from the scene. The crime was reported 8:06pm Sept. 20.

A thief or thieves stole the license plate off a vehicle parked on Fountain Avenue. The theft was reported 6:32am Sept. 19.

Someone stole three palm trees worth about $150 from the Home Depot, 860 E. Dunne Ave. The suspect left the parking lot in a white Ford pickup. The crime was reported 9:53am Sept. 20.

Auto burglary

Suspects in two newer-model sedans pulled up to a parked minivan at In-n-Out, 895 Cochrane Road, busted the windows out of the minivan and stole items from the vehicle. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the theft. The crime was reported 8:27pm Sept. 25.

Someone smashed the window of a blue Honda Accord parked at the Community Park, 225 W. Edmundson Ave., and stole a backpack with a wallet and clothes inside. The wallet contained credit cards and cash. The crime was reported 4:10pm Sept. 13.

Stolen vehicle

A thief or thieves stole a black 2004 Chevrolet Silverado that was parked on Depot Street. The theft was reported 6:41am Sept. 26.

Someone stole a baby blue 1995 Honda Accord from a spot at Tennant Station. The crime was reported 10:28am Sept. 23.

A man picked up a prostitute in Gilroy and brought her to his hotel room on Condit Road in Morgan Hill, and the prostitute subsequently stole his vehicle. The woman also stole the man’s clothes, wallet and cell phone. The crime was reported 2:40pm Sept. 15.

Trespassing

A woman who was kicked out of Walmart, 170 Cochrane Plaza, for shoplifting told store employees that she would return to the store with a gun. When police arrived the woman was gone from the area. The incident was reported 2:42pm Sept. 25.

Burglary

A resident of East Dunne Avenue saw two suspects breaking into mailboxes and chased the subjects away. The burglary was reported 10:55pm Sept. 23.

A suspect broke the front door to Angelic Nails, 16195 Monterey Road. The suspect did not make entry or steal anything from the business. The crime was reported 11:10pm Sept. 23.

Robbery

A suspect with a knife robbed a victim of $80 cash at the 76 gas station, 14660 Monterey Road. The male suspect was wearing a black beanie, black sweater and gray sweatpants. The crime was reported 6:27am Sept. 21.

Vandalism

A customer urinated inside the AM PM Mini-Mart, 18605 Monterey Road. When officers arrived the male suspect was gone. The incident was reported 1:47am Sept. 22.

Theft

Two suspects stole a package from the porch of a home on Black Walnut Court. The theft was reported 4:02pm Sept. 22.

A suspect stole about $30 worth of items from 7-Eleven, 295 W. Main Ave. The crime was reported 7:24pm Sept. 19.

Identity theft

Someone fraudulently charged merchandise from Macy’s to a victim’s credit cards. The crime was reported 4:53pm Sept. 22.

Fight

A witness reported that people were fighting inside a Toyota Camry as the vehicle was traveling on northbound U.S. 101 near Cochrane Road. The incident was reported 4:57pm Sept. 18.

Firearms surrender

A resident surrendered three firearms to the Morgan Hill Police Department, 16200 Vineyard Blvd. The firearms include two handguns and a rifle that belonged to the resident’s great grandfather. The guns were surrendered 5:17pm Sept. 16.
