First-year Rams coach Dallas Jensen has the program in a great position to win its first conference title in 49 years.

If the Gavilan College men’s basketball team can win its season-finale against San Jose City College on Friday, it will clinch its first conference championship since 1969 and just the second in program history. The Rams (22-4 overall, 8-3 Coast Conference South) have an excellent chance of doing just that, as they have already beaten San Jose City two times this season.
Tip-off is 5 p.m. at the Gavilan College gym, and tickets are just $1. The Rams defeated Hartnell 96-89 Wednesday, receiving 34 points from Brian King Jr. and 27 points and 10 rebounds from Ibn Zaid. Xander Bowers, a Christopher High graduate, finished with 10 points and 7 rebounds.
Gavilan is ranked No. 7 in Northern California, and has produced more wins this season than the last 10 years combined. Under first-year coach Dallas Jensen, the Rams are playing an exciting brand of basketball featuring rapid-fire shotmaking while featuring a fast tempo.
