CAMPBELL -- Live Oak did not receive a cordial greeting from the Westmont Invitational hosts.
The Westmont Lions had three players score in double figures Tuesday, and the Acorns went home with a 73-39 loss.
"We didn't come to play," Live Oak coach Vince Pacheco said. "We didn't play hard, and they took it to us -- simple as that."
Westmont, which was playing its season opener, built a 32-13 lead by the half, then ran away with 28 points in the third quarter.
The Acorns scored 26 points in the second half.
"We didn't really show up until after halftime," Pacheco added. "Westmont, they just outplayed us. They were big and active and well coached. They got after it."
Michael Schreiber scored 11 points, David Beckum finished with nine and Dominic Leach added eight for Live Oak, which fell to 1-2.
The Acorns next play Saratoga at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the tournament.
