MORGAN HILL -- The Morgan Hill Jr. Midget Raiders ended their season Saturday with a 22-0 first-round playoff loss to the South Valley Grizzlies in the Morgan Hill Outdoor Sports Center.

In sporadic rain, the Grizzlies came on strong early in the first quarter, recovering a fumble that led to a touchdown. A missed PAT put them ahead 6-0.

The second quarter looked promising for Morgan Hill, as Dario Magana intercepted a pass that was deflected by Dalton Craig. The Raiders strung together several first downs from there, but couldn't get on the scoreboard.

Despite a strong second-half effort by the Morgan Hill defense, South Valley broke a 44-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and a 55-yard touchdown and PAT in the fourth, making it 22-0.

Coached by Rick Dunham, Flint Glines, Kirk Quadros, Gary Perry and Scott Long, the Jr. Midget Raiders ended their spirited season with an impressive 6-2 record.
