MORGAN HILL -- The Morgan Hill Raiders Jr. Midget football team racked up back-to-back wins over neighboring rivals the Almaden and Monterey Jets.
The undefeated Raiders (3-0) rounded up the Mustangs 14-6 quickly following Drew Glines' 75-yard kick-off return for a touchdown. After a missed PAT, the score was 6-0 until the second quarter, when Morgan Hill quarterback Taylor Turnispeed completed a 67-yard touchdown pass to Trevor Bearden. A successful PAT made it 14-0.
Kyle Quadros led the Raiders in solo tackles, followed by Daniel Ginther, Joseph Rodriguez and Paul Salinas-Ruiz.
Last week, the Jr. Midgets blanked Monterey 27-0.
Glines opened the game with a 14-yard touchdown run. Bearden added a 39-yard scoring run, and Bearden a 1-yard touchdown run to make it 20-0 at the half.
Andrew Knight scored on a 3-yard touchdown run to close the day.
Morgan Hill's Jr. Pee Wee squad fell 13-6 to Monterey last Saturday, getting its lone touchdown on Clay Miller's 20-yard touchdown run late in the game.
The Raiders' KyVon Hughes rushed for three first downs, and teammate Ryan Spohn made a tackle for loss in the third quarter.
Morgan Hill's Egypt Davis also made a tackle to stop a Jets conversion try.
