The Gavilan ladies golf team participated in the March Short Course at Fremont Family Golf Club on March 14 with the Niners' Pat Angulo leading the way. Angulo, San Jose, placed third in her flight.
Angulo's teammate Shelly Kovacs, of Gilroy, was the ace and first in her flight at the March Ace Day tournament, held March 27. Kovacs shot a net 32. Morgan Hill's Junko Stonehocker was second with a net 36.
Angulo placed first in the second flight, net 42, and Morgan Hill's Laura Nelson was second (net 46). Gilroy's Pat Cordich placed first in the third flight, net 45, followed by Gilroy's Ann Maloney (net 47).
Stonehocker and Carol Narvaez shared low putts of 15. Stonehocker, Diana Hall and Sheila Hill - both of Morgan Hill - each had a chip-in.
The Niners host the April Short Course at Gilroy Golf Course on April 11.
