Competing in the first round of the first stage of the PGA Tour's Qualifying school - also known as Q-School - at San Juan Oaks Golf Club in Hollister Wednesday, 81 competitors took to the tees in hopes of advancing to the second stage of a three-part process to earn a PGA Tour card.
The top 27 scores and any ties after the first stage will move on to play at one of six different courses on Nov. 14-17. Only 35 golfers will be given PGA Tour cards when the finals reach completion on Dec. 3 at Orange County National Golf Center in Winter Garden, FL.
The first stage at San Juan Oaks ran through Nov. 3, with the first group teeing off at 8 a.m. each day.
