    Letters: Seeing is believing
    Sep 8, 2009
     By The Community

    Dear Editor,

In the Aug. 14 edition of the Morgan Hill Times Around the Water Cooler feature, the question posed to the 12 involved community members was, "Are the protests at town hall meetings regarding health care reform beneficial to the debate?"

After reading the comments of the 10 people who responded, it would be a safe bet that the majority of these respondents never attended one of these town hall meetings. But wait, how could they when our local representative Congressman Jerry McNerney has yet to hold one in our area. As of this writing, he supposedly held one in Livermore during the week, during the day, when many hard-working taxpayers and good American citizens are at work and unable to attend.

I must admit, I personally have never attended a town hall meeting either. But I have participated in three of the so-called "Tea Parties" and my observation is that these people are hard working, patriotic, tax paying, loyal American citizens who are very concerned about the direction in which this current extreme left administration is taking us.

So, my humble suggestion to the 10 "involved community members" is to get your butts away from the water cooler, go to a few of the Tea Parties or town hall meetings (if you can find one) and them make your judgments based upon your own observations and not what you read or hear in the mainstream media, which is desperately trying to prop up this sorry American administration.

Who are you going to believe, The New York Times, or your lying eyes?

    Jim Becker, San Martin
