The Morgan Hill Community Foundation is accepting applications for its annual spring grant cycle, which disburses $5,000 to local, multiple non-profits. The deadline for submission is March 16, 2012, and a copy of the grant application is now available at http://www.morganhillcf.org/. Completed applications should be sent to MHCF, Attn: Grants, P.O. Box 1974, Morgan Hill, CA 95038.

During the past decade, the MHCF has granted more than $50,000 to about three dozen local nonprofits and community projects.

In addition to its grant program, the MHCF, its alliances, and past grant recipients have a number of events in the coming weeks to continue supporting the community. Those include the South Valley Athletic Association’s Wine Auction, March 30, 6 to 10 p.m., at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, the Cops & Robbers Ball, April 27, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Guglielmo Winery, 1480 E. Main Ave., and Art a la Carte, a free children’s art fair scheduled for Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., also at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center.

The Morgan Hill Community Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity focused on improving the quality of life in the greater Morgan Hill region. MHCF accomplishes this by furthering a culture of giving to address community needs and identifying and acquiring resources that provide support to nonprofit groups and programs. The group meets the breadth of community needs through six funding areas: Arts & Culture, Recreation, Education & Livelong Learning, Health & Human Services, Science & Technology, and Environment & Agriculture. It has an annual discretionary grants process that awards grants to local non-profit organizations and programs, as well as works with donors on an individual basis to assist in philanthropic choices and community investment strategies. It is an affiliate member of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, a tax-exempt public charity with assets of approximately $2 billion.
