Sheriff's blotter: 6,665 marijuana plants destroyed near Hot Springs Road

Sheriff's arrests



Unlawful marijuana cultivation



The Sheriff's Marijuana Eradication Team discovered three marijuana gardens growing near Hot Springs Road, 8 a.m. June 8 and destroyed 6,665 plants.



Petty theft of fruit



George Tsaria, 82, of San Jose, 4:20 p.m. July 7, at Mellow Farms, 8400 Monterey Road in Coyote, after the orchard owner caught him stealing apricots on multiple occasions.



Possession of marijuana in vehicle



Guillermo Manuel Garcia Lopez, 20, of Hollister, 12:37 p.m. July 7, near Welburn Avenue and Church Street.



Under the influence of a controlled substance



Jesus Valenzuela, 20, of San Jose, 1:04 a.m. July 15, near Eigleberry and Second streets for being under the influence, driving without a license while being on active probation.



Marisa Paduani, 28, of Salinas, 4:48 a.m. July 26, on the 41100 block of Sycamore Avenue in San Martin.



Alexandria Darice Somera, 39, of Gilroy, 11:30 a.m. July 20, on the 900 block of Bosco Lane during a parole search.



Brooke Anne McCutcheon, 42, of Morgan Hill, 11:30 a.m. July 13, on the 100 block of Ogier Avenue in Morgan Hill for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property after police responded to a call of domestic violence. McCutcheon's fiance, John Allen Bell, 45, of Morgan Hill, who pulled her hair, is still at large.



Possession of syringes



Ryan Allen Harrison, 21, and Eric Lee Harrison, 25, both of Gilroy, 12:12 p.m. July 26, near Monterey and Eighth streets for possession of syringes and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ryan Harrison was cited and released at the scene. Eric Harrison, who also had an arrest warrant from the Gilroy Police Department, was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.



Possession of stolen property



Michael Augustino Wiltron, 40, and Jessica Monique Regalado, 22, both of San Jose, 8:34 a.m. July 24, near Dougherty and Tilton avenues in Morgan Hill for possession of stolen property, forgery and forgery with intent to defraud, after deputies found several checkbooks and personal information belonging to other people and forged checks in their car.



Possession of a controlled substance



Hector Duenas Deleon, 37, of Gilroy, 8:30 a.m. July 20, on the 9700 block of Zuni Court for possession of a controlled substance and possession of an opium pipe or instrument during a parole search.



OTHER INCIDENTS



Recovered stolen vehicle



A 1997 white Chevrolet 1500 stolen out of San Jose was found on the 1200 block of East San Martin Avenue in San Martin, 12:30 p.m. July 10.



Residential burglary



Four bedrooms of a residence on the 4300 block of Davidson Road were broken into and ransacked, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. July 9.



A $2,000 dark gray Sony laptop and several other items were stolen from an unlocked residence on the 7600 block of Crews Road, between 5:15 and 8 p.m. July 14.



A gas powered saw worth $100 and a portable air compressor were stolen from a workshop on the 1700 block of Rucker Avenue, between 12 p.m. June 15 and 12 p.m. July 17.



A black Univega bicycle that had been purchased 20 years earlier for $20 was stolen from an unlocked garage on the 14700 block of Foothill Avenue in San Martin, between 10 a.m. July 16 and 9 a.m. July 21.



Auto burglary



A Huntington Beach woman's locked 2005 blue Chevrolet Tahoe was broken into at Casa de Fruta, 10031 Pacheco Pass Highway, and an American Express credit card and more than $400 in cash were stolen from inside, between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. July 2. The credit card was used at 5:44 p.m. that same day to make a purchase at a Target in Marina.



Theft by credit card



A San Martin man's credit card information was used to make $2,149.50 worth of online purchases, between 12 p.m. March 27 and 1 p.m. July 8.



A San Martin woman's credit card information was used to make $275.42 worth of purchases at a gas station in Glendale, between 12 p.m. July 13 and 12 p.m. July 14.



Vandalism



An unknown substance was placed into the gas tank of a 2001 white Chevrolet Silverado on the 13600 block of Colony Avenue in San Martin, between 6 p.m. June 1 and 10 a.m. June 5. The owner was told he would need to replace the fuel injectors, filter and tank at a cost of $4,800.



Grand theft



A playset worth about $5,000 was stolen from the backyard of an abandoned residence on the 14800 block of Foothill Avenue in San Martin, between 5 p.m. June 26 and 4 p.m. July 5.



About $540,000 worth of aluminum irrigation equipment was stolen from an orchard on the 13600 block of Columbet Avenue in San Martin, between 10 a.m. July 10 and 1:30 p.m. July 13.



Four tires worth $1,200 were stolen off a 2000 Gold GMC Yukon on the 200 block of Live Oak Avenue in Morgan Hill, between 10 p.m. July 24 and 8:30 a.m. July 25.



A San Martin couple sent $3,400 through Western Union to a recipient in Atlanta, Ga., to purchase a vehicle from a Craigslist advertisement, between 12 p.m. July 6 and 1:15 p.m. July 21. The vehicle never arrived.



Burglary



A residence on the 14600 block of Pacheco Pass Highway was broken into between 11 a.m. and 6:14 p.m. July 12 but it's unclear if anything was stolen from inside because the owners were out of town.



Several locks to a storage shed and maintenance building on the 100 block of Metcalf Road in San Jose were cut, between 12 p.m. June 22 and 4:09 p.m. July 26, but nothing was stolen.



Identity theft



A Gilroy woman's personal information was used to receive medical care in Colorado, between 12 p.m. June 16 and 12:02 p.m. July 20.



Commercial burglary



Someone used a forklift to drive through the door of a business on the 12300 block of Santa Teresa Boulevard in San Martin then stole $367.58 from the cash register, between 6 p.m. July 24 and 7:36 a.m. July 25.
