A body was found outside a south Morgan Hill market Friday night.
Police responded to Southside Market & Liquor, 16715 Monterey Road about 9:15 p.m. Two witnesses reported finding the body of a Hispanic behind a large garbage bin outside the store, according to Morgan Hill Police Sgt. Bill Norman.
The man was about 50 years old. Police recognized him as having been booked in the past on suspicion of "minor" crimes, but declined to release his name until the identity his confirmed, Norman said.
The cause of death is unknown, and police are investigating. It is unknown how long the man's body had been lying behind the store.
Norman said two customers of a Chinese restaurant next door to the market spotted the body while they were waiting in a parked car for a take-out order, and called police.
More details on this incident will follow throughout the weekend.
