Sheriff's arrests
Under the influence of a controlled substance


Rafael Tizoc Marquez, 30, of Gilroy, 11:36 p.m. Nov. 1, near Chestnut and 10th streets after police stopped him for crossing Chestnut outside the crosswalk.

Monica Juarez, 25, of Gilroy, 9:53 a.m. Oct. 31, near Eighth and Rosanna streets for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Angel Rojas, 45, of Morgan Hill, 11:26 p.m. Oct. 26, on the 2200 block of Tennant Avenue in Morgan Hill.

Ruben Lawrence Ruiz, 53, of Gilroy, 1:24 a.m. Oct. 26, near Camino Arroyo and Gilman Road for being under the influence and failing to register as a narcotics offender.

Peter Navarro Lira, 46, of Gilroy, 1:24 a.m. Oct. 26, near Camino Arroyo and Gilman Road.

Public intoxication

Antonio Santos, 26, of San Martin, 12:42 a.m. Nov. 1, near San Martin and Llagas avenues in San Martin after a resident reported him urinating in a front yard.

Scott Overpeck, 44, of Morgan Hill, 12:20 a.m. Nov. 1, near Cochrane Avenue and Monterey Road in Morgan Hill for possession of marijuana for sale and public intoxication after he ran into the road in front of a deputy's patrol vehicle.

Possession of methamphetamine

Brandon Lee Wentworth, 37, transient, 10:03 a.m. Oct. 31, near Hanna and Sixth streets on warrants for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Gerardo Torres Madriz, 45, of San Jose, 6:29 p.m. Oct. 30, near Llagas and San Martin avenues for possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Open alcohol container

Teri Sue Johnston, 51, of Gilroy, 8:25 a.m. Oct. 23, on the 11800 block of Foothill Avenue for possession of more than an ounce of marijuana and driving with an open container after police found an open bottle of whiskey in her car.

Stolen vehicle

Ezequiel Gonzalez, 19, of Fresno, 2:28 a.m. Oct. 21, near U.S. 101 and Masten Avenue for driving without a license and driving a silver Hyundai Elantra reported stolen out of Fresno.

Vandalism


A BB was shot through the window of a residence on the 100 block of Church Avenue, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Nov. 7, causing $1,000 in damage.

Several windows of a garage were broken with rocks on the 2500 block of Day Road, between 8:20 a.m. Oct. 22 and 12:30 p.m. Oct. 31.

Identity theft

A Morgan Hill woman's social security number was used without permission, between 12 p.m. Aug. 27 and 3:35 p.m. Nov. 4.

Burglary

Appliances and other property worth about $10,000 were stolen from a storage unit at Windmill Mini Storage on the 13500 block of Sycamore Avenue in San Martin.

Grand theft

Construction tools worth $3,200 were stolen from a gated property on the 13100 block of Santa Teresa Boulevard in San Martin, between 6 p.m. Nov. 1 and 6 a.m. Nov. 2.

Petty theft

A purse containing morphine, Ritalin, anti-anxiety medication and cash was stolen from an unlocked 2002 white Ford Explorer on the 700 block of West Edmundson Avenue in Morgan Hill, between 4 and 5:15 a.m. Oct. 29.

A go-cart worth about $250 was stolen from a driveway on the 200 block of Hindiyeh Lane in San Martin, between 2 p.m. Oct. 27 and 1 p.m. Oct. 29.

Vehicle burglary

The passenger side window of a 2004 silver Toyota truck on the 11200 block of Schofield Court was broken and an iPod and an iPod cradle were stolen, between 10 p.m. Oct. 26 and 8 a.m. Oct. 27.

A backpack, calculator and camera were stolen from an unlocked 2002 red Ford truck on the 11300 block of Schofield Court, between 10:15 p.m. Oct. 26 and 6 a.m. Oct. 27.

The window of a 2003 blue BMW four-door was broken and a navigation system stolen from inside on the 5000 block of Santa Teresa Boulevard, between 3 and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25.

Residential burglary

A glass door was broken and two bedrooms at a residence on the 5600 block of Frazier Lake Road were ransacked, though the owner did not know if any items were taken, between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Oct. 26.

Recovered stolen vehicle

A 1998 silver Honda Civic stolen out of Morgan Hill was found abandoned in a field at the dead end of Rucker Avenue near Sixth Street with its radio, tires and rims missing and its windows shattered, 1:30 p.m. Oct. 23.

A 1988 yellow Internati flatbed stolen out of San Jose was found on the 13800 block of Sycamore Avenue in San Martin, 4:10 p.m. Oct. 22, but the Bobcat tractor that was on the trailer when it was stolen is still missing.

A 2002 white Dodge 15-passenger van stolen from Gypsy Avenue in San Martin was found near Gypsy Avenue and Bridle Lane in San Martin, 3:15 p.m. Oct. 21.

Auto theft

A pad lock to a fenced yard on the 5300 block of New Bolsa Road was cut and a dump trailer stolen, between 8 a.m. Oct. 18 and 9 a.m. Oct. 21.
