Three young men were arrested for breaking into automobiles and stealing contents in a southwest Morgan Hill neighborhood.

A resident of the area near Creekside Court and Easy Street called police early Wednesday morning after seeing four suspects loading objects into the rear of a Mercedes, according to Morgan Hill Police Sgt. Jerry Neumayer.

Shortly after the resident's call at about 2:54 a.m., Sgt. Shane Palsgrove located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's car traveling on Santa Teresa Boulevard near Watsonville Road. Police stopped the vehicle and discovered the driver, a 16-year-old male from Watsonville, was on active probation out of Santa Cruz County. One of the passengers, Abel Delatorre, 22 of Freedom, was also on active probation out of Santa Cruz County for possession of a dangerous weapon. Also in the vehicle was Juan Aguirre, 19, of Watsonville. Police did not locate a fourth suspect.

Police performed a probation search on the vehicle and found several items thought to be stolen, including GPS devices, iPods, cell phones and other items.

During the investigation, police learned that numerous residents of the area around Creekside Court and Easy Street reported their vehicles had been broken into and items were stolen. Some of the residents responded to the police department and identified some of their belongings found in the suspects' car.

Arrested were the 16-year-old male on suspicion of possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license; Delatorre on suspicion of possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and possession of marijuana; and Aguirre on suspicion of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and possession of marijuana.

The two adults were booked into Santa Clara County Jail, and the 16-year-old was booked into juvenile hall.

Anyone with more information on these crimes or believes they were a victim may call police at (408) 779-2101, or the anonymous tip line (408) 947-7867.
