Wal-Mart now accepting applications
Jul 7, 2009
- Staff Reports

Wal-Mart is hiring about 225 associates to work at its new store in Cochrane Plaza slated to open this fall.

The retailer has opened a temporary hiring center at 170 Cochrane Plaza, Ste. 222 and will begin accepting applications today.

The corporation will continue accepting applications from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

Interested applicants can apply online at http://walmartstores.com/Careers/7745.aspx.

The store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates, Store Manager Allen Brown said in a statement.

"We are excited to add this Wal-Mart to Morgan Hill and bring good jobs with career opportunities to the area," he said.

Brown said associates are needed to work in all areas of the new store, including supervisory positions.

Wal-Mart benefits - available to eligible full- and part-time associates - include healthcare insurance with no lifetime maximum. Wal-Mart also offers a 401(k) plan and profit sharing contributions, whether an eligible associate contributes or not, store discount cards, stock purchase program and life insurance. Additionally, associates are eligible for performance-based bonuses.

Most associates will begin work in August to help prepare the store for its grand opening in the fall.
