Casting agents for an upcoming Bollywood film that will be partially shot in Morgan Hill are looking for local residents to participate as extras.

Film crews for "My Name is Khan" will shoot Sunday in Morgan Hill. Beau Bonneau Casting of San Francisco is seeking adults of all races, 18 to 50 years old who are available for a full day of production.

"We want to get as many Morgan Hill people as possible," said Theresa Benavidez of Beau Bonneau Casting.

Specifically, the agency has a particular need for men and women between the ages of 28 and 50 to portray parents.

The movie will be directed by renowned Indian filmmaker Karan Johar and is scheduled for a February 2010 release, according to the film's web site www.mynameiskhan.co.in.

A flyer advertising the casting call says applicants should plan on being available for up to 10 or 12 hours Sunday, from early in the morning until late in the evening.

The exact production times will not be known until Saturday night.

Shooting will take place outdoors and during daylight hours.

Extras will be paid $8 per hour for the first eight hours, plus time-and-a-half for overtime.

"My Name is Khan," an Indian production, presents a love story featuring a main character who lives with Asperger's syndrome, a neurological disorder, according to the film's web site.

The agency is asking any interested potential extras to send an email to khan@beaubonneaucasting.com or call (415) 777-1114.

An email should include the applicant's first and last name and date of availability, ethnicity, approximate age, phone number and alternate phone number, and two recent color photos.

Phone calls should be made up to 10 p.m. tonight or 12 noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.
