Hats for cats

Rachel Salem knits a child's hat from a large ball of yarn Tuesday at Charter School of Morgan Hill. Her second-grade class is raising money for Town Cats of Morgan Hill with the proceeds of their handmade hats and scarves.

Second graders from Charter School of Morgan Hill crowd around Patty Guthrie to pet her cat Mokey after she spoke to the class about being a volunteer at Town Cats. The class raised $803 for the organization by knitting hats and scarves.
