Under the influence of a controlled substance


David Charles Quinones, 49, of Gilroy, 2:22 p.m. Dec. 27, near Monterey Road and Welburn Avenue.

Juan Manuel Aren Barrajas, 27, of Morgan Hill, 11:15 a.m. Dec. 23, at the Gilroy Caltrain Station for being under the influence of a controlled substance and probation violation.

Gary Daniel Easley, 30, of Morgan Hill, 8:42 a.m. Dec. 23, near Fitzgerald Avenue and Green Valley Drive.

Unattended death


A Gilroy woman was found dead by her son, 7:35 p.m. Dec. 27, on the 6600 block of Redwood Retreat Road.

Vandalism

A woman reported $100 worth of damage to a wall on her property, between 12 p.m. Dec. 24 and 12 p.m. Dec. 27, on the 100 block of North Street in San Martin.

Auto burglary

A person broke the rear driver's side window of a 2003 black Volkswagen Jetta, took a pair of sandals from the trunk and left them on the ground near the car, between 10:30 p.m. Dec. 26 and 8 a.m. Dec. 27, on the 14100 bock of Hidden Spring Lane in Morgan Hill.

A piece of a spark plug was used to break the passenger side window of a 1998 green Dodge Durango, between 8 p.m. Dec. 26 and 7:45 a.m. Dec. 27, on the 14900 block of Sycamore Drive in Morgan Hill. A large black purse monogrammed with the initials DB was stolen.

Miscellaneous items, including a GPS worth $300 were stolen from two vehicles, a 2002 gold Mercedes E420 and a 2002 silver Mazda Protege, between 11:30 p.m. Dec. 21 and 9 a.m. Dec. 22, near Meritage Court and Highway 152.

Residential burglary

An electric space heater worth $50 was stolen from a home, between 1:30 p.m. Dec. 13 and 2 p.m. Dec. 22, on the 7000 block of Croy Road in Morgan Hill.

Burglary

Computers, hard drives and tools worth more than $5,000 were stolen from an office, between 3:26 and 4:05 a.m. Dec. 20, on the 600 block of Burnett Avenue in Morgan Hill.

Attempted residential burglary

A person broke a window at a residence but did not enter the home, between 10:50 a.m. and 12 p.m. Dec. 20, on the 450 block of Fitzgerald Avenue in San Martin.

Petty theft

A purse and diaper bag were stolen from a 2004 gold Ford Excursion, between 9 p.m. Dec. 19 and 11:40 a.m. Dec. 20 on the 450 block of Fitzgerald Avenue. The purse and diaper bag were found about 100 yards behind the victim's house but credit cards, cash and a wallet were taken.

Grand theft

Two Apple iPods were stolen from the glove compartment of an unlocked 2000 charcoal Chrysler Sebring, between 9 and 11:30 a.m. Dec. 20 on the 450 block of Fitzgerald Avenue.

Miscellaneous items, including a cell phone charger, were stolen from three vehicles, a 2001 gray Nissan Sentra, a 1983 black Chevrolet Silvera and a 2006 brown Ford F150, between 9 p.m. Dec. 19 and 10:30 a.m. Dec. 20, near Olivia Court and Manna Way.

Vehicle recovery

A 1991 black Honda Accord stolen out of Watsonville was found, 10:32 a.m. Dec. 20, on the 13200 block of Columbet Avenue in San Martin.
