The Morgan Hill Raiders midget cheerleading team won the 2008 Pop Warner National Championship earlier today - the first such championship for Morgan Hill.

With a score of 85.14, the team eked out a win over the Everett Huskies, who scored an 84.48. There were 14 teams in the midget small intermediate division, in which the Raiders competed.

The competition took place at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. This is the team's sixth appearance in the past seven years and Morgan Hill's first national championship.

The Raiders' junior midget small team, competing in the intermediate division, took eighth place Wednesday.
