The Morgan Hill Downtown Association is extending the planned public display of its Mushroom Art project through April 2009.
The project was originally planned as a three-month-long display for the summer.
"When we took into account that extending the public display would mean we provided more exposure to the artists, sponsors and most importantly the beneficiaries of the project it became clear that extending the project was the right thing to do. In addition, we gain the benefit for all of the participants and downtown businesses of having the mushrooms on display throughout the busy holiday season," said Morgan Hill Downtown Association Executive Director Jorge Briones. There will be a public auction for the event in May. Mushroom sponsorship opportunities are still available.
