Meditation Workshop at the Library

"Introduction to Meditation" with Ajahn Chandako, an American Buddhist monk, will take place on Thursday, May 22, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., in the Program Room at the Morgan Hill Library.

This free program will teach techniques to reduce stress and anxiety, focus concentration and develop awareness.

Ajahn Chandako has been an ordained Buddhist monk for 18 years. He has trained with many of the greatest meditation masters in Thailand and frequently leads meditation workshops and retreats. He is now abbot of Vimutti Buddhist Monastery near Auckland, New Zealand, and also spends time at his hermitage in the Santa Cruz Mountains near Boulder Creek.

Annual Picnic at Machado School

The Machado School

Heritage Society invites you to its annual picnic on

Saturday, June 7th from 11:30-3pm. Antique cars from

the Valle del Sur Car Club will start the day,

arriving about 11:30. New this year will be live

bluegrass music with the "Morgan Hillbillies". They

will be playing from 11:30-2:00. Sue Howell of

W.E.R.C. (Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation

Center) will give a wildlife talk and show at 2:00.

Historian Kathryn Rusconi and Board Member Dorothy

Reed will display the Heritage Society's archives,

including old class photos of former Machado School

students. Local artist John Ward will host an exhibit

of his artwork. Quilts will be on display by the South

Valley Quilt Association. Old-fashioned games for the

kids will be available before and after lunch. All

welcome!
