Surprised shoppers watched as several Morgan Hill police cars rushed to the front of the TJ Maxx store in Vineyard Town Center where a woman was arrested Saturday afternoon.
Roselynn Huanga, 28, was taken to Santa Clara County Jail for burglary, petty theft with priors and an outstanding $4,000 warrant.
When the incident was called into the police, it was reported as a possible domestic violence situation because two men were seen apparently fighting with a woman, so several officers responded to the scene. Officers learned instead of being a domestic incident, it was the store security struggling with Huanga.
According to Morgan Hill police Special Operations Sgt. Jerry Neumayer, Huanga went into the store with an empty bag intending to steal the toys.
Store security watched as she took three children's toys and put them in the empty bag, then walked past the registers and began to walk out the door, police said.
Neumayer said they identified themselves to her as loss prevention officers, and she tried to run away.
