Live Oak clothing students will be modeling their original designs at this year's Fashion Show on May 8.
For the first time in many years, guests will sit in chairs surrounding a rectangular runway that students will walk down, Live Oak High School clothing instructor Donna Foster said.
"Think Project Runway," she said, referring to the popular Bravo network reality show, where fashion designers compete to have a full clothing line featured at New York's Fashion Week.
The 140 participating students will sport more than 200 student-created garments from the school's Regional Occupational Programs fashion courses.
Although Foster said she's always had plenty of interest in her classes, shows like Project Runway and another competition show, America's Top Model, peaks the interest of students at all levels.
"I have students of every ability," she said. "(This show) is one place where kids across campus collaborate to put something together."
