    Ambert Melissa Schneider married PFC Angel Grimaldo Esquer on Aug. 16, 2008.
    Jessica Nicole French married Jason Gerald Skow on June 14, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church in Hollister.
    Wendy Huckins and Abrem Estorga were married June 1, 2008.

    Tom and Pat Thompson on their golden wedding day, Aug. 10, 1958.
    Tom and Pat Thompson celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
    WEDDINGS

    Esquer/Schneider

    Ambert Melissa Schneider married PFC Angel Grimaldo Esquer on Aug. 16, 2008.

    Ambert, daughter of Valerie and Dennis Schneider, attended Stockton schools and is a day care provider.

    PFC Esquer, son of Cindy Grimaldo, is a Private 1st Class in the United States Marines. He attended Sacred Heart School and San Benito High School.

    A ceremony was held with family and close friends followed by a reception of celebration in Stockton, which was attended by 200 people. Family from as far away as Michigan attended.

    PFC Esquer is currently stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C., and until his return from his first tour of duty in Iraq his bride will reside in Hollister.



    French/Skow

    Jessica Nicole French married Jason Gerald Skow on June 14, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church in Hollister.

    Jessica, daughter of Fernando and Debbie Gonzalez of Hollister and Joel and Karen French of Sacramento, is a 1999 graduate of San Benito High School. She is currently employed at Security Shoring and Steel Plates, Inc.

    Jason, son of Alice McKnight of King City and Jerry and Rochelle Skow of Hollister, is a 1998 graduate of San Benito High School. He is currently employed at Hollister Motorsports.

    The couple resides in Hollister.



    Huckins/Estorga

    Wendy Huckins and Abrem Estorga were married June 1, 2008.

    Wendy, daughter of Doug Huckins and Sue Huckins, is a 2001 graduate of Azusa Pacific University with a bachelor's degree in music theory. She is a registrar at Mt. Hermon Conference Center and an independent singer/songwriter.

    Abrem, son of Robert Estorga and Tina Estorga, is a 2001 graduate of Sonoma State University with a bachelor's degree in liberal studies. He is a teacher and coach at Valley Christian School in San Jose.

    The outdoor wedding was held at Highlands Park, Ben Lomond, and officiated by Pastor Steve Richardson. Two hundred family members and friends joined in the sacred ceremony focusing on the couple's commitment to the Lord and each other.

    The couple resides in Capitola.

    Jayden Andrew Cortez

    Jayden Andrew Cortez was born Aug. 17, 2008 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital to Cindy and Johnny Cortez of Hollister. He weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce.

    Joshua Matthew Rivera

    Joshua Matthew Rivera was born Aug. 27, 2008 at St. Louise Regional Hospital to Imelda Negrete and Jorge Rivera of Hollister. He weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce.



    ANNIVERSARY

    Thompsons celebrate 50 years

    Tom and Pat Thompson of Cassel celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Aug. 10, 2008.

    The pair graduated from Salinas Union High School in 1957 but not before announcing their engagement at the senior prom. The couple was married Aug. 10, 1958, making their home in Salinas, where they had two daughters, Marti Read (married to Kirk) and Toni Lilburn (married to Randy). After 10 years, the couple moved to Hollister, where they created more memories, including the graduations of both their girls from San Benito Joint Union High School. In 1984, Tom and Pat moved to Cassel, where they later retired.

    Tom retired in 1993 after 33 years with PG&E. Pat worked for the Hollister School District at Sunnyslope School until moving to Cassel. The couple enjoys spending their time traveling.

    The couple has three grandsons, three granddaughters and one grandson-in-law. The special occasion was celebrated with family.
